Introducing Localize This, a simple localization system for Unity3D–now available in the Asset Store. We use this module in all of our games, so we figured we’d put it up in the Asset Store for others to use. It allows you to switch string files based on the device locale, as well as automatically translate your game text using Google Translate. Localize This also has several convenience functions for retrieving localized data files and doing simple replacements on tokens for dynamic text (score, lives, etc.)
Hey, wanna learn how to code games in Unity3D? Our first Unity3D Asset is out, Game Kit: Invader. It’s a very simple arcade style game complete with detailed documentation on how it was built. Dissect this example and you’ll be well on your way to creating your own games. Also comes with a complete set of sounds and graphics you can use in your own projects.
The Company Bio has been updated for 2013. This includes information on our second screen proof of concept project, Kid Monster. More details to come–but we have developed a prototype hybrid TV show and game app where users can collect exclusive virtual goods by watching episodes of a TV show on Smart TVs and traditional broadcast platforms.
Some users are reporting that the new iOS update deletes their save file. To make up for any lost feathers we are giving you 10X free feathers this week in Camera Birds. Now, when you pick up feathers on the ground they are worth 50 feathers instead of 5. Hopefully this will make up for any lost progress.
A new version of Camera Birds is now available in the App Store. It fixes a few minor bugs in the initial release and makes some slight interface and performance enhancements.
Apparently TheBigDawg digs Camera Birds with this first published review of the Android version. The article mentions a previous review of Brick Buddies, but the review can’t be found anywhere on the site. Let us know if you find it!
We’ve fixed a bunch of bugs, typos, and other polish issues in Camera Birds for Android. You should see the update hitting today. These changes are currently being merged into the iOS version. Hopefully you’ll see an iOS update next week!
